I have been loving skirts this summer and have been enjoying playing with different styles, silhouettes, textures, and prints.

Skirts are a great balance for me to not feel overdressed because I can dress it down like I did in this post. I styled it with date night or girls happy hour in mind.

To create a seamless silhouette, I used my curved waistband method to make the perfect waistband for my body. There is no gaping with this method and the fit is perfect.

I created this skirt using my personal skirt block. I drafted my pattern straight from my woven skirt block to create this look. I wanted a silhouette that was well-fitted and classic because I knew I wanted to make it pop with a vibrant printed fabric.

The beauty of drafting straight from my personal block is that I KNOW it will fit me no matter how I change the design.

My personal style preference only has a tolerance for a certain amount of pop, so I keep my "popping" to one piece, generally, and balance out the rest of the outfit with solid colors. I may even play with texture like I did with this clutch.
